Chateau of Yvoire, 74140 Yvoire, Haute-Savoie, Region Rhone-Alpes

Towering above Lake Geneva, the castle Yvoire represents the physical boundary between the lake and the lake. Therefore a strategic point for navigation control in the Middle Ages. Subject to many battles, the castle car still bloody violence synonymous with this era of history.

History of Chateau of Yvoire

Built in the fourteenth century, it was quickly destroyed by the Bernese in one of the many conflicts that opposed to the counts of Savoy. It is noted in the course of the sixteenth century and the tower was rebuilt in the early twentieth century.
