This castle can therefore learn the history of the Renaissance and historical monuments while having fun.
At 3am, families and groups of friends will discover the Castle Usson through a treasure hunt that will launch this year 2010, looking for the secret of the Knights Templar.
History of Chateau of Usson
William Augereau Égretaux owner, bought in 1879 the remains of the castle Usson, located on the town of Echebrune, growing commune of the Canton of Pons, located 7.5 km east of Pons.
Threatened to collapse, it is dismantled and transported on trucks elements of the castle where the transfer begins in 1889. This completes the recovery during the year 1890, on a rural site near the valley of the Seugne (right bank), south-east of Pons.
Whilst still retaining much of its original charm, the Renaissance, the castle was rebuilt as fancies of the buyer who added elements from other buildings, including a fireplace in the castle of Pons and woodwork of the Regency Chateau de Rosny-sur-Seine.
The architecture of Castle Usson
The castle was rebuilt according to a plan where the fantasy main building is shaped like a U, with a main building with Renaissance gallery, the center’s ground floor is occupied by a conservatory.
Both wings have turrets, and only the side of the central courtyard is adorned with Renaissance decoration, embroidery and sculptures pediments of the windows. There is the old porch inserted in the left wing and right blind tower surmounted by a lantern, which are of various designs.
